Roberta Cesa is an Italian and European patent attorney, admitted to practice before the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM), the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). She is also admitted to practice before the Unified Patent Court as a European Patent Litigator. Roberta Cesa graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Turin and obtained the title of PhD in Neurological Sciences.

Work experience

Roberta Cesa obtained her degree in Biological Sciences; she acquired educational and professional experiences at the “Rita Levi Montalcini Center for Brain Repair” of the University of Turin where, in 2004, she obtained the title of PhD in Neurological Sciences.

She also carried out research activities at Columbia University in New York, where she deepened the study of the plasticity of the central nervous system and the visualization in vivo of cerebellar neurons by two-photon confocal microscopy.

She has received invitations to participate in several international congresses and her contribution to scientific research is recognized by numerous publications in international scientific journals.

She began her activity in the field of intellectual property in 2010 and since then she has assisted leading Italian and foreign companies, as well as technology transfer offices and innovative startups, in the filing and prosecution of patent applications.

Professional activity

Her activity comprises advising clients in matters of industrial property, with particular reference to the drafting, prosecution and protection of patent applications in Italy and abroad.

She assists Italian and foreign clients in handling patent-related issues, in litigation cases and in proceedings before national and international industrial property offices.

She has also carried out activities as a speaker and lecturer on numerous topics relating to intellectual property.
