Giancarlo Notaro is an Italian and European patent attorney admitted to practice before the Italian Patent and Trademark Office, the European Patent Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office. He is also admitted to practice before the Unified Patent Court as a European Patent Litigator. Giancarlo graduated in aeronautical engineering from the Politecnico di Torino (Technical University of Turin).

After graduating in aeronautical engineering from the Politecnico di Torino (Technical University of Turin) in 1977 and a brief experience in the design division of IVECO, Giancarlo Notaro began his activity in the field of industrial property, assisting major Italian and foreign companies over the course of his career. At the beginning of his career, he also spent internship periods before a leading US firm.
He also carried out extensive technical expertise activities on behalf of various Italian Courts as a Court-Appointed Technical Expert.
His activity comprises advising clients in matters of industrial property, with particular reference to the drafting, prosecution and protection of Italian, European and international patents.
He assists Italian and foreign clients in handling patent-related issues, in proceedings before national and international industrial property offices and in litigation activities, in Italy and in other countries, with particular reference to Germany and the United States. He has also developed significant experience in the filing, prosecution and litigation of designs.
He is a member of FICPI.
