Ilaria Gallo is an Italian and European attorney, Trademarks and Designs Sections, admitted to practice before the Italian Patent and Trademark Office, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) of Geneva.

She is also qualified to practice as a lawyer.

Ilaria graduated in Law from the University of Turin with honors and mention in 2012, with specialization in industrial law, competition law and international contract law.

In the same year, she began working in industrial and intellectual property and, over the years, she further developed her competence also through various specialized training courses, including the first edition of the Trade Mark and Design Education Programme organized by the EUIPO.

Italian native speaker, fluent in English and French, with knowledge of Spanish.

Work experience

Ilaria began her collaboration with the Firm in 2020, after qualifying as a trademark attorney and as a lawyer and after collaborating with two firms in the field of protection of industrial property rights and a patent law firm in Turin, also gaining experience in the protection of industrial property rights on the internet.

Professional activity

Ilaria provides legal advice in matters of industrial property, with particular reference to the acquisition, protection, management and valorization of trademarks, domain names, the protection of distinctive signs online, copyright, unfair competition, as well as contracts relating to industrial property rights.

In the field of trademarks, her activities include: preliminary availability assessments, study of filing strategies, filing, prosecution and maintenance activities before the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva and, in collaboration with an established network of local correspondents, before foreign national Trademark Offices.

Ilaria also handles the management of administrative litigation (oppositions, revocation and invalidity actions, appeals) before the UIBM and the EUIPO, as well as out-of-court settlement of disputes in the matters regulated by the Italian Industrial Property Code.

Ilaria is also active in INTA (International Trademark Association), in which she also participates as a member of specialized committees and as an author of contributions on the matter, and as a member of the Trademark Study Group of the Italian National Institute of Industrial Property Attorneys, in addition to carrying out activities pro bono in matters of industrial property at selected local public bodies.
