Matteo Nicita joined the firm in 2022, he is a European patent attorney admitted to practice before the European Patent Office (EPO), and a trainee in the qualification path for the profession of Italian patent attorney.

His activity focuses mainly on the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the mechanical and aerospace fields, with applications in various industrial sectors.

Italian native speaker, fluent in English.

Work experience

He obtained a M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino (Technical University of Turin) in 2022, with a specialization in propulsion systems, carrying out a thesis work on the design of a next-generation dual-mode engine.

In the same year, Matteo joined the firm and began his activity in the field of industrial property, starting the professional training path for qualification as an Italian and European patent attorney.

Professional activity

In the course of his activity at the firm, Matteo collaborates in assisting Italian and foreign clients in patent matters, making his technical expertise available in the engineering field, with particular reference to the mechanical and aerospace fields.

His activity mainly comprises support in the drafting and prosecution of Italian, European and international patent applications, as well as carrying out prior art searches, patentability analyses and searches intended for freedom-to-operate analyses.

He also collaborates in the drafting of responses to search reports and written opinions issued by patent offices, in monitoring activities relating to clients’ patent portfolios and in activities connected with the protection of designs.

Matteo carries out his activity mainly in the field of industrial property, with particular reference to technical and patent consultancy in sectors with a high engineering content.
